About

The Rochester Institute of Technology Outing Club is a group aimed to provide an array of outdoor activities to students encouraging the exploration of nature and self. Only through new experiences can we hope to grow and those experiences gained from nature grow the foundation of a healthy life and healthy community. Our goal is to encourage students to get outside and experience the outdoors in their own way and provide opportunities to have new adventures. Together we are a group of students who are interested in the enjoyment of the outdoors and responsible stewardship of our natural environment.

We provide a broad range of outdoor activities to match the interests of members from canoeing on the Genesee River and Erie Canal to camping excursions to the Adirondacks. We try to plan trips according to what people want to do and are open to anything.¬† In recent years we’ve participated in backpacking, rock climbing, mountain biking, caving, snow shoeing, skiing, white water rafting, and many other activities.

People of all ranges of experience are welcome to join the club. All members are willing to share their knowledge with others. The Outing Club also maintains a supply of camping gear that is available for use on each trip.
